Why I chose to move away from Wordpress

Wordpress is great, don’t get me wrong, but it simply provided much more than I really needed for my blog.
I don’t write a lot so it doesn’t bother me that I need to write out all the HTML/kramdown for my posts.
Automating social media posts can be done through IFTTT, and comments can be done with disqus, so I’m not limited in that aspect. Pages load faster than ever before now that my blog is static, and SEO scores barely took a hit.
Overall, moving from Wordpress to Jekyll has been a great decision.
